Espirito Santo

Espirito Santo Victoria

For the really Off the Beaten Path beach experience go to Santo Spirito. This mayor industrial state has many nice beaches where many locals from nothern state Rio de Janeiro and southern state Bahia go to in the weekends and vacations. Most tourist only pass through this state when traveling between Bahia and Rio.
When going into Espirito Santo you will find many strawberry- and coffee producing regions towns populated by immigrants from Italy and Germany and the great eco-reserves called Parque Estadual da Pedra Azul.

From calm blue- till blue-ish seas is what you will find driving along the coast and many nice cozy little fishing towns. \more north sandy dunes and its beach at Parque Estadual de Itaúnas.

State Capital: Vitória

About 500 km north of Rio de Janeiro and about 600 km south of Porto Seguro makes Vitoriá, founded in 1551, an excellent place as for a night-over between Rio de Janiero and Salvador.
The city has not that much to show from its past they do in export of coffee and Iron.

Beaches

Praia do Camburi is about 5 km long with some kiosks, restaurants, mid class hotels and some nightlife spots.
Praia da Costa has more cleaan water for a swim but less hotels and restaurants.
